Telecoming takes part one more year in Minsait’s report on Payment Trends 2018, a collaboration we proudly celebrate. The report looks into the latest payment trends and we were invited to collaborate due to our expertise in Direct Carrier Billing.
In January 24th, the presentation took place at Palacio de Neptuno and all of us who contributed to the report attended to be part of a key sector analysis. This report shows the vision of the industry through various sources of information, showing the current panorama of means of payments in Europe and Latin America, taking into account regulation and the latest innovation breakthroughs.
The novelty of this edition has been the incorporation of a “Barometer of trends in means of payments” which portrays the most significant developments, challenges and future novelties.
Telecoming’s payments insights are addressed by Roberto Monge, our Chief Operations Officer. He explains that the “PSD2 has relied on carrier billing as a means of extending digitalization and that it has not yet reached its full potential. Perhaps, this evolution is not so much about amounts but it definitely will touch many sectors (p.e. vending), contributing towards the monetization of the Internet of Things (IoT) when the 5G is deployed”.
Monge maintains that the great reception that the digital contents have, has led different operators to offer these in their portfolios. This is where Direct Carrier Billing finds its raison d’être, being the regulation, technological developments and UX the three pillars that drive direct carrier billing.
DCB promises to have favorable prospects, being the most universal alternative for a growing mobile population worldwide.
